CitySonnet begins with a passion for New York, a love of travel and an enthusiasm for introducing visitors to real New Yorkers. Established in Greenwich Village in 1995, we began by representing a few neighborhood accommodations.  We have since expanded with the ever-changing landscape of New York. In addition to popular Manhattan destinations such as Midtown or SoHo, we now offer unique accommodations in New York’s most exciting “new” neighborhoods, such as Long Island City, Queens, Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Harlem.

Call us old fashioned, but CitySonnet is committed to remaining distinctive in the Internet’s enormous travel arena by offering friendly, individualized customer service, not automated e-responses. We personally read and promptly respond to each email.  We also believe in speaking on the telephone to guests. Your holiday is of utmost importance to us and we strive to have open, friendly communication.

CitySonnet offers a solid reputation you can trust. But just don’t take our word for it! Pauline Frommer, a native New Yorker herself, has personally visited CitySonnet accommodations and favorably included us in her boutique guide to New York, as well as personally recommending us on national television on the Live! With Regis and Kelly Show.  It also gives us a great honor to be recommended by the same guidebooks we use for our own travel adventures: Lonely Planet, Time Out and Moon Publications.  Additionally CitySonnet has been featured in Conde Nast, the Wall Street Journal, The Sunday Times London and New York Magazine. See our Press page for more details.

As artists and avid world travelers ourselves, one American, one British, we understand the true needs of visitors. Our personal aesthetics guide us to attractive, artistic offerings that simply, look great: accommodations that truly represent the diversity and richness of New York City. Having studied and lived abroad, we firmly believe that a stay in a private accommodation connects people, makes the world a little smaller, a lot friendlier and increases the mutual understanding that is so important today.
